Iris Gannon
Iris Gannon is a development professional with more than a decade of experience in administrative and managerial roles. She brings strong expertise in fundraising strategy, grant writing, donor research, and systems development, with a proven ability to secure and steward philanthropic support while strengthening internal development infrastructure.
In addition to her nonprofit experience, Iris has spent more than fifteen years working in the hospitality and maritime sectors – from roles at some of Seattle’s leading fine dining restaurants to deckhand positions on commercial fishing and research vessels in remote Alaskan and international waters. This background has shaped her strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as her ability adapt, collaborate, and lead in complex, fast-paced environments. She brings a diversified skill set informed by hands-on operational work and relationship-driven industries, which strengthens her efficacy in development and systems support. Iris is known for her strategic approach, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate effectively across teams to advance organizational goals.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Medical Anthropology & Global Health from the University of Washington, where she graduated summa cum laude and completed coursework in American Indian and Indigenous Studies with a focus on Indigenous food sovereignty movements. Iris is deeply passionate about supporting Indigenous-led, mission-driven organizations and community-centered solutions.
In her spare time, Iris enjoys cooking for friends and loved ones, painting with watercolors, and spending time outdoors in the Great Lakes region and the desert of southern Arizona.
