Shelby Rae Keplin serves as the Director of Tribal Relations at Indigenized Energy, where she works directly with Tribal Nations to support energy sovereignty through community-driven renewable energy projects.

From her own lived experience as a member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians, Shelby understands the importance of relationship, trust, and honoring Tribal decision-making. She serves as a consistent point of contact for Tribal partners, helping ensure communication is clear, respectful, and aligned with Tribal leadership, cultural protocols, and community priorities.

With over a decade of experience in human and social services and community engagement, Shelby brings a people-first approach to her work. She supports Tribes through the planning and coordination of renewable energy initiatives, helps convene multi-tribal conversations, and works alongside leadership, staff, and partners to move projects forward at a pace that respects Tribal processes and timelines.

Shelby’s work is rooted in long-term relationship building and showing up as a good relative. She is committed to supporting Tribes in leading their own clean energy efforts in ways that strengthen community, build local capacity, and serve future generations.
